Burnham's Vital Care provides home and in-office infusion therapy across Mississippi, Alabama, Louisiana and Florida, from two locations in Moss Point and Mobile. The people who answer the phone are here — and behind them is a national network with nearly forty years of infusion experience.

We are dedicated to knowledgeable patient consult, speed to service, communication, patient support and post-therapy follow-up.
Part of the Vital Care network
Vital Care was founded in Meridian, Mississippi in 1986 by Johnny Bell, who set out to offer infusion therapy in homes and alternate sites in his own community. It has grown into a network of over 160 locally owned and operated infusion pharmacy franchises across the country.
That structure is the point, and it is why this does not feel like calling a national chain. Burnham's Vital Care is owned and run here. The network provides the buying power, the manufacturer relationships and the clinical infrastructure; the care, and the person who picks up, are local.

Both of our locations are accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Health Care (ACHC) and licensed by their state board of pharmacy, for infusion pharmacy and sterile compounding services.

Infusion care, from our family
Burnham’s Vital Care did not start from nothing. It grew out of a family pharmacy that has served the same Gulf Coast communities since 1902 — and the infusion side of it is more than twenty years old in its own right.

Burnham Drugs opens in Moss Point
Pharmacist K. W. Burnham opens the store, and it quickly becomes a local favorite — the start of a century of serving the same families.

1991
A new generation takes over
John and Wendy McKinney purchase the store, carrying on its neighborhood spirit and hometown service. Four more pharmacies follow — Escatawpa, Gautier, Vancleave and Lucedale.

2001
Burnham’s Vital Care of Mississippi opens
Infusion therapy comes to Moss Point, adding home and in-office infusion to the Burnham family of services.

Burnham’s Vital Care of Alabama opens
A second infusion location opens in Mobile, extending our services across the Gulf Coast.
